What’s for Breakfast in An AI Future Pt1 & 2
From the Near Future lab's podcast, they brought up really interesting concepts of AI integrated into our lives and it potentially affect human behavior. The podcast was an eye opener to how AI could affect our lives in near future which can resonate with the different groups of people.
"People are just tired of AI
E.g a personalized dietician AI that always check in on your meal and tells you what to eat and you can't eat the things that is outside the AI suggestion.
"I don't want electricity in my House"
The idea of how our field is field with AI-Asisted Objects and the constant interaction between human and machine causing a toll on the mental health. Thus leading to the escapism from these AI technologies.
"Data Become the New Currency"
Data becomes a item of transaction to training your models" if every training models requires a data - Human Data is the new currency?
Oversaturation of AI
Poor data quality can lead to inaccurate or biased AI models, which can have serious consequences in areas such as healthcare and finance. Insufficient data can lead to models that are too simplistic and incapable of accurately predicting real-world outcomes. A lack of data diversity can also lead to biased models that do not accurately represent the population they are designed to serve. Lastly, data privacy is a major concern, as AI models may require access to sensitive data, which raises concerns about data privacy and security.
Interest Polling Session
Most of my classmates were interested in the ‘New Currency” & how MLs work, which led me to the topic of money, data and AI. Very broad words it is, but I guess it’s a way to start researching into the these 3 areas. By 'New Currency' it refers to data as the new currency replacment. One suggestion by Andreas was to think how perhaps the top dogs in the Tech industry getting hold of the data in future and how they fight for data.
So what's Data in AI?
So the word “Data” is such a broad word and I felt that I have no deeper knowledge or whatever on data other than just information that is stored. Therefore I searched a little more about data and to find a marketplace for large amount of data transaction.
Thereafter, I found myself hitting the wall with data as currency since it’s already an existing thing and there’s even a marketplace for companies to purchase large amount of data. Off course, there is so types of data, I could dwell in into one of it and talk about the issue but I felt like it’s not really necessary OR maybe I should think deeper of what to do with such datas? However, moving forward, I will to be looking into what exactly data is and how it works.
